22nd Assembly Candidate Sandy Pasch to Serve on Two Milwaukee County Community Justice Council Committees
Recently formed council plans to improve access to services like addiction treatment and mental healthcare to fight the factors that contribute to crime.
MILWAUKEE, Wis., (April 22, 2008) – 22nd Assembly candidate Sandy Pasch will serve on two of six steering committees for the recently-formed Milwaukee County Community Justice Council. Milwaukee County DA John Chisholm asked Pasch to join the Council’s Programs and Interventions Committee, and Chief Justice Kitty Brennan asked her to serve on the Council’s Public Health Committee. Pasch will serve alongside such notables as Police Chief Ed Flynn, Sheriff David Clarke Jr. and Mayor Tom Barrett.
The Community Justice Council’s mission is "to efficiently and collaboratively coordinate services and to effectively allocate financial resources to ensure crime reduction, victim support, offender accountability and restorative community-based programs." The committees Pasch serves on will look at ways to improve access to services like addiction treatment and mental healthcare to fight the factors that contribute to crime.
A resident of Whitefish Bay since 1986, Pasch is founder of Milwaukee’s Crisis Intervention Partner program and is currently an assistant professor at Columbia College of Nursing; coordinator of Crisis Intervention Team training for Milwaukee Area law enforcement; on the steering committee for the Milwaukee Mental Health Task Force; and is on the boards of directors for the American Red Cross; National Alliance on Mental Illness of Greater Milwaukee (President emeritus); and Warmline, Inc. She previously served on the ethics committees for area hospitals,as well as boards of directors for Hope House; Whitefish Bay Soccer Club; and Advocates for Education. Pasch is a member of the American Red Cross Nurses; American Public Health Association; and American Society for Bioethics and Humanities.
